Innovation and Creativity in the Lifelong Learning Programme

The general aim of the conference is to identify the role and impact of creativity and innovation in the Lifelong Learning Programme and stimulate further process on how the LLP contributes to Creativity and Innovation. It will be linked to the 2009 European Year of Creativity and Innovation.  

Nowdays more then ever with fast spreading worldwide economical crises is very important to implement innovative approaches and creative ideas to educational systems which will foster a new generation with the capability to reduce growing unemployment, encourage healthy competitiveness and promote sustainable economy.
 

The Lifelong Learning Programme contributes to accomplish the goals set by European leaders in Lisbon to become "the most dynamic and competitive knowledge-based economy in the world" by 2010 in the field of Education and Training. Important objectives of LLP are set to help promote creativity, competitiveness, employability and the growth of an entrepreneurial spirit; to encourage the best use of results, innovative products and processes and to exchange good practice in the fields covered by the Lifelong Learning Programme, in order to improve the quality of education and training.  

Part of the conference will be dedicated to awarding outstanding European projects or actions which will serve as a good motivating example to wide public. As accompanying activities, there will be an exhibition of photograghs from a 2008 photo competition, postcards from the Comenius Week open to the public, an exhibition of awarded projects in 6 categories and the official presentation of the 2009 Success Stories brochures (introduced by the press in the morning of 7 May).
 

The afternoon part of the LLP conference will be divided into two parallel sessions. The first session will discuss Creativity and Innovation in Lifelong Learning in general / in particular LLP. The second session will concentrate on Encouraging entrepreneurship and triggering cooperation education-business in Lifelong Learning in general and the LLP in particular.
